A man is in custody after a 6 hour stand off with Orange Police at an apartment at 1549 N. Highland Street in Orange.
Police were called for some type of disturbance and according to several witnesses 6 shots were fired in the apartment as Police arrived.
Numerous attempts were made to contact the man over 6 hour period but he ignored them. Police cleared dozens of frightened residents from neighboring apartments.
The Orange Police Tactical Team arrived at the scene and repeatedly ordered the man to exit the apartment.
Police attempted to get the mans attention by firing off several loud bang devices but he continued to ignore them.
A chemical agent device was inserted through a window which quickly forced the man to give up. He was taken into custody without further incident.
