Orange Unified School District is asking families and community members to share their views on schools through a survey open until Jan. 15, 2027, according to the district’s announcement.

The survey asks about learning and classes, school buildings and spaces, how students feel at school, and opportunities for families to get involved. The district says responses will help it decide what to focus on next school year.

The feedback is part of Orange Unified’s Local Control and Accountability Plan, or LCAP. The district describes the plan as a roadmap for improving student outcomes, setting out goals, services and investments related to achievement, engagement and student well-being.

OUSD says its planning draws on input from students, families, staff and community members, alongside student performance data and district priorities. For residents, the survey offers a way to raise concerns about everyday school experiences and help inform those priorities.

The 2026–27 Family & Community Survey is available in English and Spanish. Its introduction says it should take less than 10 minutes and that participants may skip questions they do not wish to answer.

The district says information provided through the survey is anonymous and individual responses are confidential, with access limited to authorized staff evaluating progress toward LCAP goals.

OUSD is also offering a participation incentive: the school with the most completed surveys will receive $500 for learning spaces, according to its announcement.

Questions about the survey can be sent to LCAPsurvey@orangeusd.org.
