MAN KILLED AT BAR ON CHAPMAN AVENUE

A man was killed at the Bikini in a Bottle Bar & Grill at 1535 W. Chapman Avenue in Orange during a fight with security around 11 p.m. Saturday night.

Orange Police along with the Orange County Sheriffs Department Crime Lab and the Coroners Office were at the scene most of the night investigating the incident.

According to a Press Release issued by Orange Police;

Homicide Investigation— On September 12 at approximately 11:00 p.m., Orange Police Department officers responded to Bikini in a Bottle, located at 1535 W. Chapman Avenue, regarding an unconscious male in the parking lot.

Officers found a 39-year-old male with head injuries. He was unresponsive, and Orange Police and Orange Fire Department personnel provided medical aid. Despite their efforts, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office will release his identity pending notification of next of kin.

Preliminary information indicates the male was involved in a disturbance with patrons inside the bar. Security personnel asked him to leave and later escorted him outside. Investigators learned he subsequently returned and attempted to reenter the bar before an altercation with a security guard. During the altercation, the guard struck the male once in the head, causing him to fall. Investigators continue to examine the sequence of events and circumstances surrounding the injuries.

The security guard remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
