A couple and 4 young children fled their home into the night air early Sunday morning after discovering their house was on fire. City of Orange Firefighters aided by Firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority responded to the home at 2419 E Hoover Avenue around 1:20 AM and found smoke coming from the garage on their arrival.
According to the Orange Fire Department, the homeowner told them he had disposed of used fireworks in a trash can and that may have been the cause.
Orange Police were the first to arrive at the scene and quickly got the family to safety while deploying a fire extinguisher and garden hose on the fire.
