A car was found unoccupied in the Santa Ana River at Chapman Ave. in Orange around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night. The discovery of the car forced the launch of a large Swift Water Search and Rescue Operation along the riverbed that involved Firefighters from the City of Orange, Anaheim, and the Orange County Fire Authority.
The driver of the car was reportedly not found. The water level and rate of flow made it somewhat likely that the driver simply walked away.
