CAR CRASHES INTO CIRCLE AGAIN!

The time between cars driving into the park at the center of the Orange Plaza seems to be decreasing, despite the best efforts of the City.

Orange Police received several 911 calls reporting that a white van had driven into the park and was careening back and forth on the parks pathway nearly hitting the fountain but stopping short.

Police arrived in about one minute and blocked the path of the van. The driver was taken into custody and checked out by Orange Fire Paramedcs.

Preliminary information from the scene indicates the driver may have been having medical issues.

Orange Public Works responded to the park and began securing the damaged infrastructure.

Two months ago Public Works installed more reflectors at the circle entry points at the direction of the Mayor and City Council. New, car stopping bollards are expected to be installed in the next few months.

The van in this incursion followed a path similar to others. Additional bollards would have stopped the van from entering the park.
